Dear God,

As Father of all of us and creation, I want to thank you for this day. My heart is filled with love and wonder as I get to enjoy another beautiful day of life.

Thank you for all the fathers out there who are involved in their children’s life. I know I appreciate my own dad and how much he influenced me growing up. As a classroom teacher, I see first hand the difference a father’s presence or absence makes in the life of a child.

I would like to put in a special good word for the step dads out there as well. To be a step parent requires a lot of selfless giving and often without a lot of appreciation. God bless the step dads out there who step up and care for the children in their blended families. You have an important role to play!
