What shall I focus on? Creating a new day for myself

Each time I focus on something, I create a new beginning for myself.

What shall I focus on today?

A few ideas come to mind…

Perhaps the fact that I am healthy and feeling well,

feeling thankful for the supportive colleagues that I will see today at work,

anticipating the fun evening I have planned with my teenaged daughter,

reminding myself of all the good work I am doing…

So many ways to begin a day and create, yes by all means, create!

In Peace,

Debra

I Am the composer of my life, a special composition: this morning’s verse

To compose: To write or create

A composer: is one who writes or creates

Composition: the way in which a whole or mixture is made up, or the action of putting things together.

To be composed: to be serenely self-possessed, calm

As the composer of my life, what can I do to compose what I want in order to have the most beautiful composition (my life!) possible?

I Am composed

I Am peace

I Am listening with grace and confidence; calm and poised

Smiles

Love

Peace

Excitement

Knowing the way from deep inside….

I am creating something very special

and I Am thankful.

The Mew Way: Seven ways to just love

As many of you know, Mew inspires a post on The Warm Milk Journal from time to time. Tonight is one of those times.

According to the Mew Way:

  1. When in doubt, just love.
  2. When angry, decide to let it go and love.
  3. When scared, run into the corner of a closet, and then come out  realizing you are safe and loved.
  4. When feeling lonely: meow and look adorable. How can anyone resist you?
  5. When feeling affectionate: rub, kiss, and lick the object of your affection.
  6. Be gentle and love.
  7. Be patient and wait at the front door and know (with faith and absolute certainty) that loved one will return. Then love.

Workin it….. When does life work with you?

Life works with you when:

  1. You appreciate what you have.
  2. You don’t put unrealistic expectations on the important people in your life.
  3. You take care of yourself.
  4. You are doing things you care about and enjoy doing.
  5. You find the right mix of working and playing.
  6. You nurture your spiritual life.
  7. You serve others.
  8. You are responsible for something greater than yourself.
  9. You surround yourself with supportive, positive people.
  10. You don’t take it all too seriously.
  11. You have perspective. In the end, what really matters? Only a few things, really.
  12. You permit yourself to enjoy the little things:  a nice glass of wine at night, dinner with friends, a great book, holding hands and walking with your sweetie, hugs, a mug of coffee, tea, or warm milk….
  13. When you or someone else makes a mistake, you forgive and let it go.
  14. You recognize the abundance you already have and you are not waiting for ___ to live your life now.
  15. You laugh.
  16. You love unconditionally.
  17. You create something that comes from your heart, spirit, soul…
  18. You know what you want, you make a plan, and you go for it and never give up!
  19. You keep learning and growing
  20. You are easy, gentle, and flexible.

Life wants to work with you. Are you willing to work with it?

Looking for the beauty that is all around us

This life of ours is truly a gift. If you are at all feeling down for any reason, start looking around and looking for the beauty that is all around you. Once you set an intention to see beauty, you will be amazed how you are in fact surrounded by it! It doesn’t matter where you are, what matters is where your attention is.

For example, just in this moment as I sit here at 1:00pm in my bedroom writing this post to you I am noticing:

  1. My beautiful cat Mew (of course!) lying on his corner of the bed. He is as cute as ever with his long curly fur, fluffy tail, and serene little napping face…
  2. I see the beautiful art work we have in our room. I love the colors and images. One of my favorites is of a Native American couple with the man very lovingly and protectively holding the woman. Beautiful…
  3. A few minutes ago, I got a call from our local newspaper ( they are considering publishing that letter I wrote to the editor a few days ago…). The lady calling me, Carol,  was so nice and had a cheerful energetic voice. Beautiful…

Wherever you are right now, whether at work, at lunch, at home, at the gym, doctor’s office, outdoors etc., start looking for beauty to experience. It really is all around you!

Have a beautiful day,

Debra : )
