To live a well balanced, rewarding life of our dreams by day and sleep restfully at night.

Nothing more to ask of this day,
Time for bed.
Eyelids are getting heavy,
Bedtime is near.
I Am safe.
I am home.
There is nothing to fear.
Thank you for this day.
It was good and now has passed.
A dreamy world awaits me now
I don’t know how much longer I’ll last.
For eyelids are heavy and
bedtime is near.
I Am safe.
I Am loved.
I Am home.
I have nothing to fear.
Evening calm
Evening balm
My heart is light and happy as my eyes get heavy with
the idea that perhaps now is a good time to drift off
and sleep.
Evening calm
Evening balm
Quiet and soothing…
I appreciate your dark beauty that will guard
me as I sleep.
Look over me, evening, and
keep me safe.
For the next eight hours,
I am yours.
Good night.
Warm and soothing
Acceptance and unconditional love
Reassurance when you need a boost
Mother’s love in a cup
Mellow and creamy
In good times and sad….
Love always all the time
Kindness and simplicity
ENJOY!
I get home from a day of teaching school and my Bikram Yoga class. I spend a little time catching up with family. I pour myself a glass of red wine (a nice petite Syrah) and reach for a book on my bookshelf. My hand chooses a gem of a book which contains a lovely collection of verses. I hope you enjoy these for your evening reading as much as I did….
Singing Image Of Fire
A hand moves, and the fire’s whirling takes different shapes:
All things change when we do.
The first word, “Ah,” blossoms into all others.
Each of them is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you look for the truth outside yourself,
it gets farther and farther away.
Today, walking alone,
I meet him everywhere I step.
He is the same as me,
yet I am not him.
Only if you understand it in this way
will you merge with the way things are.
From The Enlightened Heart An Anthology of Sacred Poetry
Edited by Stephen Mitchell
A blessed and sacred evening to all,
My bed is beckoning me at the moment.
It seems to know my body and mind are ready to call it a day.
Pillows and blankets, cats on each bed corner,
this is a scene I can’t (and nor do I want to ) resist!
So before I turn in,
I consider this:
the things that went well today,
the possibilities of tomorrow,
and challenges that are being blessed and released NOW. Good bye…
Free and thankful
I am tired and loved,
Cozy and secure.
I am wrapped up in a world of contentment and safety
that the world outside of me can not touch.
Simply slipping away to a dreamy state awaits me…
as I slip and smile
I know sleep will take me away and bring me back
ready for more tomorrow.
More of what? We shall just see….
Good night,
Debra
A tidy clear mind or
a cloudy, foggy one…
Whatever the case may be-
it is getting closer to sleep time, dream time,
losing day time,
all for the simple cause of blissful sleep.
Cares of the day are forgotten in this
new state
and mysterious musings of the mind frolic while
you rest and recharge for the next worldly day.
Let the dreams take over,
they will do no harm.
Perhaps a bit amusing, bewildering, or even frightening at times
but rest assured their time on stage is brief.
Slip away to this other world and you will
leave with perhaps a little grin on your face;
for you know in its voyage of merriment,
your mind will find its way back to you…
when the new day beckons and
to be awake will be a welcome new state
from being asleep.
Summer evening, what I love about you most is that
you linger and take your time…
you permit an evening walk or bike ride
or perhaps a late back yard dinner on the grill.
Summer evening,
I love it when you’ve dampened the heat of the day
and Earth’s creatures can come out to play.
You’re a wonderful venue for concerts and family excursions
and a terrific stage for cricket, frog, and cicada symphonies.
I delight in the fragrance of your garden;
August lilies, woodland tobacco,phlox, and ebb-tide roses…
You all intoxicate me so.
Afternoon storms give way to a clear
summer night… stars, moonlight…
Summer evening you give me
such delight.
I will languish in your lingering until
this spell is broken by the first Fall wind and hint of crisp coolness…
Until then, Summer evening,
I am all yours.
Love light
God’s light
Sunlight is within me at all times.
Your goodness and love is ever flowing
and I am thankful for this basic universal truth:
I Am love and
everybody
and everything around me
is love.
Love light
God’s light
Sunlight
Moonlight
Loving energy is everywhere
It is never not there.
To sleep is all well and good
it is perfectly wonderful, in fact.
To sleep and slumber, not
a care left in the world-
For the day is finished
All that is left is the peace
of sleep.
Sleep,
drifting losing consciousness but
still awake in my dreams.
