How we live our lives greatly affects how restful we sleep at night.

To live well by day do these ten things:

1. Love

2. Play

3. Work at something that nurtures your talents and strengths.

4. Be a part of something bigger than yourself (volunteer, join an organization)

5. Don’t sweat the small stuff (borrowed from Richard Carlson’s wonderful little book)

6. Try new things.

7. Find the “funny” in life situations.

8. Eat well.

Ten ways to keep yourself balanced

Staying balanced has many benefits: improved health, greater satisfaction at work, happier relationships, less anxiety, and better sleep.

Here are ten Ways to keep balanced:

  1. Learn to say no
  2. Accept the fact that you will never pleae everyone so you do not even need to try!
  3. Take mental breaks throughout your day
  4. Get outdoors at least once a day.
  5. Always have a healthy snack available to keep your blood sugar steady (I always have almonds in my purse or car).
  6. Deep down you know what you need. If you need social interaction, get yourself out there! If you need solitude then hole up in your nest unapologetically and come out when you are ready to.  
  7. Minimize your exposure to the media and negative people.
  8. Read things that inspire you.
  9. Do something nice for someone else at least once a day.
  10. Write in your journal.
