An entry for your gratitude journal tonight

What are some things that you feel thankful for right now? With recent challenges I am having at work and with the recent 9/11 anniversary I find it very healing and helpful to think of my blessings and all that I have to be thankful for. Tonight in your journals before bed,  write a few things that you feel thankful for now. Really feel that gratitude. I sometimes put my hand on my heart when I am doing this exercise. I may also pause from my writing from time to time and just close my eyes and reflect on my thanksgiving.

Tonight, my journal entry of gratitude would look something like this.

I am thankful for:

  1. The nice meal I just enjoyed with my family.
  2. Time to relax and enjoy a movie with my sweetie tonight as soon as I publish this post.
  3. My friends who are so supportive when I am feeling down.
  4. My cat, Mew, who inspires me and loves me no matter how grumpy I can get at times.
  5. New friends I am meeting online through The Warm Milk Journal and associated Twitter account.

I Am Free

For this Fourth of July weekend I am thinking of all of the Freedoms that we Americans have. We are very blessed.

Today as you go about your day or this evening as you settle in, perhaps you can think about or write in your journal all of the many freedoms that you enjoy and are thankful for.

Here is my list:

  1. I am happy and grateful to be free to live wherever I want to (currently, beautiful and sunny Florida)
  2. I am happy and grateful to be free to worship God in the way that has spiritual meaning for me.
  3. I am happy and grateful to be free to do work that pays the bills and is very fulfilling (I am a school teacher).
  4. I am happy and grateful to be free to vote for who my leaders are going to be.
  5. I am happy and grateful to be free to dress the way I want to dress.
  6. I am happy and grateful to be free to eat what I want to.
  7. I am happy and grateful to be free to read, watch, and listen to what I want
  8. I am happy and grateful to be free to write about what I want to write about.
  9. I am happy and grateful to be free to travel where I want to go.
  10. I am happy and grateful to be free to voice my opinion.

God bless America and all of the freedoms we Americans are fortunate enough to enjoy!
