enthusiasm

Five things I am excited about now. A journal writing exercise.

One of my favorite journal writing exercises is to simply list things I am currently excited about. Having enthusiasm and being excited is what keeps us growing and living a fabulous life.

Let’s see… what am I currently excited about?

1. The Warm Milk Journal, of course! It is definitely a project from my heart. I will have more time soon to devote to it and tweak some things. I will keep you posted on new developments…

2. It is almost summer! (I am a school teacher and yes, I am looking forward to my eight weeks off. Phew!)

3. Being married to the most wonderful man in the world. We have been married for two and a half months now : )

4. An Asheville, NC Blue Ridge mountain adventure we are planning for this Fall.

5. All of the wonderful connections I am making as @WarmMilkJournal on Twitter. It’s awesome!

Your turn…

What are you excited about right now. What are you REALLY excited about?

Write!

Cheers,

Debra

Enthusiastic by day, restful sleep by night

A basic belief we have here at The Warm Milk Journal is that there is a connection between how we live by day affects how we sleep at night.  Having enthusiasm during the day means we are experiencing joy and a positive energy in our lives.

Fulfilling, joy filled days increases the chance of our sleeping well at night.

How can you get more enthusiasm into our days? Here are ten ideas:

  1. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Be thankful for what you have.
  2. If you are not happy with what you are doing for a living or you find yourself in unhealthy relationships:  gather the courage to create positive change for your life.
  3. Look for the beauty in little things.
  4. Do not over commit. Learn to say no. Spend your time on activities that truly have meaning for you.
  5. Remember to have fun: play and laugh. Lighten up!
  6. Smile.
  7. Do things you are good at and enjoy.
  8. Try new things on a regular basis. You may surprise and delight yourself into a new experience, hobby, relationships, etc…
  9. Think of all the good you bring to others and our world. You are needed, appreciated, and significant!
  10. Write a list in your journal of people, places, and experiences that put a spring into your step. I guarantee you will be smiling and feeling pretty good after this journal entry.

With enthusiasm,

Debra
