Just hanging out (a bedtime verse)

Just hanging out.

Not much to say…

Anything “important” that happened today is

all subjective anyway..

Just hanging out,

and happy to be.

This night is good

and wise and full.

This night is all I need to lull

me into a state of appreciation,

safety,

wonderment,

and rest.

I am blessed,

thanks to this night.

Just hanging out

and everything is perfectly

alright.

Goodnight!

Rest for your shining self: a bedtime verse

Putting it out there,

giving it all you got.

Your true self shined today as you knew it would.

Time for rest,

for you deserve a break…

Tomorrow your shining self

will illuminate again.

Good night. Sleep well. Peace

Sleep into your safe harbor now….a bedtime verse

A simple formula for getting a good night sleep tonight?

Go to sleep, knowing you gave the day what you had to give.

It is over now. Time to rest.

Sink into blessed sleep…

May peace envelop, caress, and cradle you

in its safe harbor and deliver you

to dawn renewed and radiant.

Summer Evening

Summer evening, what I love about you most is that
you linger and take your time…
you permit an evening walk or bike ride
or perhaps a late back yard dinner on the grill.

Summer evening,
I love it when you’ve dampened the heat of the day
and Earth’s creatures can come out to play.

You’re a wonderful venue for concerts and family excursions
and a terrific stage for cricket, frog, and cicada symphonies.

I delight in the fragrance of your garden;
August lilies, woodland tobacco,phlox, and ebb-tide roses…
You all intoxicate me so.

Afternoon storms give way to a clear
summer night… stars, moonlight…
Summer evening you give me
such delight.

I will languish in your lingering until
this spell is broken by the first Fall wind and hint of crisp coolness…
Until then, Summer evening,
I am all yours.

A carefree world for the night: this evening’s verse

Oh, to just not have a care in the world-

To sit and be still or

float away up high

and far…

to places where

responsibility and stress are unknown concepts

and the only important duty

is to be, JUST BE….

Yes, to travel to this place

would be a gift to behold-

a sacred blessing of time and space.

Can such a world exist?

Dear Cares and Worries,

You need to vacate for a while so that I can take my vacation to

my carefree locale for the evening.

If you cooperate,

I will give you my attention again tomorrow.

Thank you,

Debra.
