5 Tips to stay cool enough and 5 tips to stay warm enough to sleep well

We will begin by sharing the optimal temperature for sleep which many resources report anything from 60 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. That is optimal. However, we may live in a place that does not have air conditioning, or live and sleep with a partner that prefers orrequires a warmer or cooler temperature, or we may just be on a budget and we are watching our energy bills...

Depending on where you live in the world, you are either hoping to be cool enough or warm enough to be the most comfortable at night. I live in Jacksonville, Florida and even though it is almost October we are still in the 90s during the day and it is not cooling down much at night currently. Thank goodness for AC and my darling wonderful ceiling fan (my new best friend since hot flashes have started this year). Phew!

We will have something for everyone. Here goes:

Five Tips to Stay Cool in Bed

1. Choose cotton linens that lets your skin breath

2. Wear a loose cotton night shirt or short gown

3.Don't wear socks

4. Keep cool aloe vera gel on night stand

5.Apply an ice pack on wrists, back of neck, and behind knees.

Five tips to Stay Warm in Bed

1. Wear socks

2.Choose warm linens such as flannel sheets and down comforters.

3.Wear a hat.

4. Put your sleep in the dryer for a few minutes before bedtime

5. Be sure to block drafts in your windows with weather stripping or a rolled towel.
