To live a well balanced, rewarding life of our dreams by day and sleep restfully at night.
Is there something you’ve been wanting to do “someday” but you are waiting for a time when there is more time, more money, the kids are grown, etc.
If we keep waiting for that “someday” to appear and not take action, what happens? It doesn’t ever come, does it? And the thing we have always wanted to do for ourselves and our lives remains undone.
When you have your quiet reflective journal writing time tonight, I would like you to consider one thing that really matters to you. Just one thing. This is something you feel passionate about and would feel just terrible if people at your funeral service talked about you shaking their heads and muttering:” she always wanted to do _____but it just didn’t happen for her. Too bad. Poor thing.”
Once you identify that one thing whether it is starting a new hobby, going on a trip around the world, starting a new business, asking your boss for that well deserved raise, etc- write down some action steps to get to it.
Baby steps are still action steps. Do not let what appears to be a daunting task contract you into fear and being overwhelmed. You will never do it. Little steps. Then do them. Great ideas and dreams are just that unless action is taken.
Now, I want you to look at how to improve your chances that you will take these baby steps. Here are some ideas:
If not now, when? Take whatever it is you want to do to the next level by identifying it, outlining steps to take, taking action on those steps, and stick with it. Like the old Nike ad: Just Do It.
