To live a well balanced, rewarding life of our dreams by day and sleep restfully at night.
Good morning! I feel so thankful for this new day. I slept much better and feel fantastic (it’s amazing what a good night of sleep will do, isn’t it?).
For those of you who read my post yesterday, I did not feel as well due to a difficult night. Alas, I struggled a bit yesterday. I did not want to give in to my fatigue and be grumpy and blue. What really helped me was picking up one of my favorite books, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. This is one book that I refer to time and time again when I need to sharpen my life tools.
The concept I focused on was a simple one: Feel good now. That’s it! The idea is that if we feel good- really feel good, we are actually emitting a certain level of energy. I think of that old Beach Boys song: Good Vibrations. But that is exactly what it is. If we send these good vibrations out and feel them within us we will attract even more of the good stuff into our lives.
So that is exactly what I did. I dragged myself out of the house and went to the beach. I set up my favorite camping/beach chair, sun umbrella and looked out into the ocean. Within minutes my spirits were lifting. I had a notebook with me and was quickly feeling inspired with fresh new ideas for The Warm Milk Journal. I took a dip into the ocean and walked along the shore. I felt good! I was no longer the pitiful miserable Debra who did not get enough sleep the previous night.
This morning, I continue to feel good. I am mindful of all the good in my life. I feel very blessed and thankful.
Upon awakening this morning, I picked up another one of my favorite inspirational books: Illuminata A Return to Prayer by Marianne Williamson. The entire book is just so wonderful, I would like to send all of you a copy if I could. The idea I focused on this morning is how to be happy. Ms. Williamson talks about how children are so happy because of their innocence and that they “don’t have all the facts yet”. How does the saying go: ignorance is bliss? So, in order for us adults to be happy we have the challenge to consciously let some worldly stuff go in order to be happy. We need to detach from things, expectations and certain outcomes. Just be. Enjoy. Be childlike and appreciate how wonderful it is just to be alive.
So my wish for you today and every day, dear reader, is to feel those good vibrations now. Send them out and be happy now. Find the magnificent child that still resides within you and have a beautiful day.
