- Don’t eat too much right before bed.
- Limit caffeine intake after 3:00 pm
- Make sure your bedroom is not too hot
- Don’t exercise too close to bedtime
- Don’t go to bed mad at your spouse/partner
- Don’t bring your worries to bed with you.
- Don’t watch violent tv , movies, or the news too close to bedtime.
- Don’t take too long a nap during the afternoon
- Don’t eat an overly heavy and high fat meal at dinnertime
- Don’t drink too much alcohol before bedtime.

these are great tips! For me personally exercising about an hour before I go to bed is the best way to get a good night sleep though. Lifting weights or running for a long time might be too stimulating of course, but having a nice walk, doing a Pilate or Yoga workout or just a few push-ups and sit-ups always helps me to get rid of some “stale” energy in my body and float away in the dreamland
