Ten things to avoid if you want a good night sleep

  1. Don’t eat too much right before bed.
  2. Limit caffeine intake after 3:00 pm
  3. Make sure your bedroom is not too hot
  4. Don’t exercise too close to bedtime
  5. Don’t go to bed mad at your spouse/partner
  6. Don’t bring your worries to bed with you.
  7. Don’t watch violent tv , movies, or the news too close to bedtime.
  8. Don’t take too long a nap during the afternoon
  9. Don’t eat an overly heavy and high fat meal at dinnertime
  10. Don’t drink too much alcohol before bedtime.

    Hi Debra,

    these are great tips! For me personally exercising about an hour before I go to bed is the best way to get a good night sleep though. Lifting weights or running for a long time might be too stimulating of course, but having a nice walk, doing a Pilate or Yoga workout or just a few push-ups and sit-ups always helps me to get rid of some “stale” energy in my body and float away in the dreamland ;-)

    By the way, I love your blog too! You have a lot of great information cooking here :-)

      Yes, whatever works, huh? I know I sure do enjoy my evening walks and stretching at night before bed.
